Understanding the aPHR Certification

The aPHR certification, offered by the HR Certification Institute (HRCI), is designed for individuals who are new to HR or seeking to enter the field. It validates foundational knowledge and understanding of essential HR principles and practices. The exam covers six functional areas:

1. HR Operations

2. Recruitment and Selection

3. Compensation and Benefits

4. Human Resource Development and Retention

5. Employee Relations

6. Health, Safety, and Security


The aPHR exam consists of 150 multiple-choice questions, which are administered via computer-based testing (CBT). Here are some key details about the exam:


Duration: Test-takers are allotted 3 hours to complete the exam.

Question Format: All questions are multiple-choice, with four possible answer choices provided for each question.

Passing Score: To pass the exam, candidates must achieve a scaled score of 500 out of 700 points.

Exam Locations: The aPHR exam is available at Pearson VUE testing centers located worldwide. Candidates can select a convenient testing location and schedule their exam appointment through the Pearson VUE website.

1.How long is this course? How many days and hours is the training per week?

This is a 12-week course. The program consists of forty-eight hours of interactive, live virtual class sessions led by our expert instructors. We will meet two times a week for two hours for each session.

2. What’s the structure of the Course?

You will spend 7-9 hours per week during our interactive sessions and readings. You will also attend live office hours every Saturday.

To be eligible for the aPHR exam, you must have a high school diploma or global equivalent. No HR experience is required since this is a knowledge-based credential.

6. Do I get a recording? What if I miss a class? Make-ups?

Our class modules are interactive. Thus you will not be able to attend a make-up session. You will, however, have access to the recording for a week.

Yes! You will receive a certification from our company within seven days of compli.org. While we cannot do this for you, we can do our best to support you to sign up for the aPHR certification through their website at www.hrci.org.lities.
